25 Years of Tradition

Welcome to the Mt. Lebanon Basketball Association (MLBA)!

The MLBA is a volunteer-led, community-based program offering boys and girls in grades 3–8 the chance to play basketball in a fun, safe, and competitive environment. With both recreational and travel programs, our mission is to help players develop their skills, foster a love of the game, and learn teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Our Mission
To provide opportunities for all young athletes in Mt. Lebanon to grow as players and leaders while enjoying the game of basketball.

Our History
For over 25 years, MLBA has been a cornerstone of youth sports in Mt. Lebanon. Each season, hundreds of kids take the court thanks to the dedication of parents, coaches, and volunteers who keep our program strong.

Volunteer Leadership
Our program is 100% volunteer-run. From coaches and coordinators to board members, every role helps create a great experience for our players.

A Letter from the President

When I was in 6th grade, my father, a Pittsburgh Policeman took me to my first high school basketball game at Penn Hills High School. I watched the game, the coaches, the crowd, the cheerleaders, and the electric atmosphere. I vividly remember telling myself that I am going to do this and play here. That experience lit a fire of passion inside of me for the great game of basketball and I did just that.

I have been the President of the Mt Lebanon Basketball Association for a long time. It is a privilege and an honor . What a terrific community this is. I can not say enough good things about it. We've made a lot of changes and have grown with the times. We have outstanding coaches, board of directors, families, kids, and volunteers.
Our core goal has stayed consistent. We are development focused. I tell our coaches that we want them to create a positive culture where each kid learns the important fundamentals of the game, learns how to compete and be a good teammate, has fun, picks up many life lessons, and enjoys their experience where they want to return next year.
We have programs for kids as young as 4 up to 8th grade.
Our entry level beginner programs emphasize “ fun with fundamentals “  creating a positive learning environment .

We are always looking to improve and seek quality coaches and other team and association volunteer help.
